June 6th, 2003Alpha3 FeaturesSorry; I've been having some trouble with the news update script.  Here's the currently complete feature list which will be present in Alpha build 3:

- "sz_getspace overflow without allowoverflow set" crash fixed (for the most part)
- console logs to qconsolePORTNUMBER.log now
- default.cfg only executed if config.cfg not found (fixes problem with configs getting overwritten sometimes)
- separated framerate from net packets (cl_locknetfps cvar)
- anisotropic filtering (gl_anisotropy cvar)
- gl_texture_saturation to adjust the saturation of textures
- mouse wheel can be used for console scrolling
- insert text mode at the console
- allowed "timedemo" to be turned on when playing ANY demo
- stopped demos from crashing (fixed one of the causes, anyway)
- serverlist cvar (default is "www.planetquake.com/digitalpaint/servers.txt")
- funname automatically executed upon connecting to server (uses whatever is stored in the "name" cvar)
- enabled gl_motionblur support for newer radeon cards
- support for up to 5 mouse buttons
- VERY basic bots (for debugging purposes right now.  Don't expect them to give you a particularly enjoyable gaming experience).
- Bug fixes in game code involving jails, the streak counter, and friendly fire.

There will be a release soon.

April 1st, 2003IMPORTANT! RELOCATION!The captured.com network is going to be removed shortly, so we are relocating to planetquake.com.  The new address will probably be /.
January 12th, 2003New ScreenshotsSince the Paintball II 2.0 alpha is out, we decided make the screenshots page more accurately reflect the game as it stands now.  The earlier screenshots were from when it was still a Quake2 mod (and thus rather limited graphics wise).
Visit Us on IRCDon't forget to stop by and say "Hi" in #Paintball on irc.EnterTheGame.com (or click on the chat link to the right).
January 11th, 2003Just to Clarify...You do NOT need Quake2 to play the alpha test.  It's a standalone game.  Simply unzip it to c:\games or wherever you want to put it and fire up the exe.
