August 14th, 20033dfx SupportPrevious versions of Paintball2 were not compatible with some Voodoo cards, but this issue has been resolved. Alpha build006 will run on video cards as low as the original Voodoo. It won't run well, but it will run. Here are some screenshots:
Midnight II (the framerate can get as low as 6fps on this map)
This undocumented feature can be accessed in standard Quake2 as well by setting "vid_gamma" to 2 or higher and then "vid_restart"ing.
Alpha build006 will be out shortly. A couple more bugs need fixing. August 10th, 2003DonationsDigital Paint is now accepting donations. We obviously care more about making a fun game than making money, but if you would like to show your support feel free to do so. digitalpaint.tkFor the lazy people who don't bookmark pages and like shorter urls: http://digitalpaint.tk August 8th, 2003Message BoardIE had some issues staying logged in before on the message board because it didn't like being in a frame from a different server. Now that the site has been redesigned, this problem no longer occurs. I'm writing this update mainly because I think more people should post on the message board. Click on "Forum," people! Feedback helps! August 5th, 2003New Layout!I’ve finally gotten around to getting this new layout up. The design has been “almost-complete” for quite some time, but lots of things popped up, such as my dad getting a new job and having to move. I also got a summer job, and though it may have only been a 50% cut in my time, it was about a 98% cut in my productivity. Anyway, feedback on the forum would be appreciated. June 21st, 2003New ForumsIf you haven't noticed, this site has been going through a very gradual transformation into a new design. Why is it so slow? Because there's only so much one guy can do in a given time frame! :) The forums have been revamped to reflect the new design, but not only that, they've been updated to the latest YaBB code and moved to a newer server. So check them out and post something while you're at it! More AlphasI haven't been posting news updates about this because I wanted to keep these releases kind of low key to make sure there weren't any major bugs. The files page has been updated though. I'll put up a full news release detailing all the new features and whatnot later. This is just a heads-up to keep an eye on the files page.
