July 19th, 2006The Forums and Serverlist are DownDelirious has been trying to contact the company hosting the coloc server for dpball.com but has not been able to get ahold of them. I'm not sure when dpball.com will be back online. Hopefully it's not something serious. The secondary serverlist at http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/serverlist.php should still be functional for the in-game browser, but the external serverbrowser.exe will not function without dpball.com. The forums will not be accessible at all until dpball.com is back up. June 26th, 2006QuakeCon / DPCon Date and Location SetApparently there were issues securing a date for QuakeCon, but it's set now! QuakeCon will be held on August 3 - 6 in Dallas, TX at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in their Trinity Exhibition Center. DPCon will basically be a sub-con of QuakeCon. Registration starts on 28 June 2006 at 22:00 EDT. They have fewer BYOC slots available this year, so you might have to sign up quickly in order to get in. Visit quakecon.org for more details and to sign up. There's also a QuakeCon thread in our forums here if you have any questions or comments about it. Hope to see you there! June 1st, 2006PBCup Summer 2006XtremeBain has posted the details for the upcoming PBCup season over at pbcup.com. There's also a forum thread about it here and a German translation here. They Dugg It!toM|vendettA posted an article on digg.com about Paintball2, and enough people dugg it to make it front-page news. There have been a ton of new players recently as a result. Hopefully some of them will stick around and become part of the community. May 23rd, 2006Forums Being RelocatedAs you're probably aware, there have been a lot of problems recently with the forums being slow or inaccessible. We're currently moving the forums (along with the rest of dpball.com) to a new server, so it should be much faster and more stable. March 24th, 2006Invalid Instruction FixIf you get an error along the lines of "Invalid Instruction" when trying to run the Linux version of Paintball 2 Build 16, it probably means your CPU doesn't support SSE instructions. I've created a small patch that disables SSE optimizations. You can grab it on the files page. Do not use this patch unless your CPU doesn't support SSE. It will cause slight prediction errors due to variations in the floating point calculations resulting in laggy gameplay.
