December 13th, 2007A Glimpse of Things to ComeMy friend found an old Stingray in a back shed. I planned to make a high-quality model with it at some point, but it wasn't a high priority. Now that I'm moving to California, though, I had to do it quickly. Here's what I came up with (no textures yet):
We also got some higher-quality audio recordings which will probably slip into a release here soon. It may be a while before the model shows up, though.
As for build 20, I found a small bug causing TGA files not to download. I haven't had time to repackage everything since I've been busy working remotely on my new job, packing, and all that. It may be released as build 21. Hopefully I can get that out before I move. December 4th, 2007Vote for Paintball2 - 2007 Mod of the YearModDB is holding its annual Mod of the Year voting. If you enjoy this game, visit http://www.moddb.com/mods/2155/paintball-2 and click on the large "VOTE FOR MOD" button.
On a side note, build 20 is done. I'm putting together the installers and running some tests. My real life has been extremely busy with a new job offer and getting everything ready to move to California, so I don't know when I'll actually get the official release put together, but if you can't wait, look around on the forums for the test release. October 11th, 2007Digital Paint CommitteeElections have completed, and I've already put the committee hard to work. Here is the list of committee members that were elected:
The committee is responsible for investigating potential rule violations and determining appropriate punishments as well as settling disputes over names and clan tags that have been registered on the global login system. The way this typically works is by reviewing available evidence, such as logs, contacting the people involved, if necessary, then creating a poll to decide on the best course of action.
If you have an issue that requires administrative action or know of somebody who is violating the rules, you can contact one of the people listed above and the committee will attempt to resolve the situation in the fairest way possible. Committee members should be available either on our IRC channel or on the forums. September 18th, 2007Changing IRC Networks to GGCThis is long past due, but I'm now making Global Gamers Center the official IRC network for Paintball2. The GGC admins have greatly supported our game and community with things like tournaments and custom services. Connect to irc.gg-center.net and join #paintball or visit the irc page to join in and chat at our now-official new home.
