December 23rd, 1998Ksplat2b Released!When Quake 1 Paintball beta 2 came out it included this little map called Ksplat2. This map was definitely a player favorite but it was decided that it was too small for most the games that were played on it and it was revised for Paintball 1.0 final, to the form that you know it today Ksplat2. However Jitspoe recently gave the original .map file to Fryth who has converted this Pball 1 Beta 3 favorite to Digital Paint. You can download it here. I am sure several servers will be running this classic soon! Jitspoe Nominated for Graphic Artist of the YearThe Quake Women's Forum is holding a Best of 1998 poll. The nominations were held in November and now you can go vote! Our very own Jitspoe has been nominated in the Best Level Designer, Best Skin Artist and Best Graphic Artist category. Sadly Digital Paint did not make the list of nominations for best TC or Mod, but I have emailed the admin of the site about that. December 22nd, 1998BSP Files For Map MakersI've had these for quite some time, but I just now got around to putting them in a more "user-friendly" format to install. Now you only have to edit a couple files if your directories are different. Enjoy, and make some cool maps! :) New 3rd Pary MapCrash has put together a map called N-ZONE. It's got a pretty cool layout and looks like it will play pretty well, tho I haven't played on it with anyone yet... Good job Crash. Plan ItIts been a long time since i took a stab at it, but im back at work poking around at the .plan admin functions. I got the function to allow me to make directories now, and so im working on allowing myself to make groups for sites dynamicly and very quickly. Anyways, the .plan system is setup for DP members only at this time, but soon will be handed over for use by all of captured.com. As of now, you can check out the .plans of DP members on the button on the navbar. The .plan system will provide for members of different groups to quickly and easily make updates of any type.
The DP plans will mainly be for talking to the community, and wont be as much places for official news, more like ideas and whatnot, a way to talk to the people other than the bboard. =) Anyways, thats that (and i got my sig made) December 21st, 1998DP included in Hydra-SBMadMx emailed me to let me know that Digital Paint servers have been incoporated into the install files of the new server browser Hydra-SB. The Hydra crew has also created a DP so that you can find more servers. Thanx to the guys at Red Mountain Software for including Digital Paint. New MenuWell, the Quake2 menu looked pretty bad in the paintball palette, and didn't fit in well with the pb2 theme at all, so now that I have a little free time, I made one that looks much nicer :) I'll prolly post it as POTD, Page UpdatesThis morning I redid the navigation bar to the right of the page. The new one is easier to read and allows for more links, and is much easier to modify when necessary. I also updated the links section of the page. We link to any site that carries Digital Paint news or is in any other way related to this modification. If your site should be added to the list please drop me an email. Yesterday I also updated the server list, and compacted it so it can be viewed easier. The new layout does not provide as much information but is a quicker link to the DP servers. If you would like to view a page with more information listed for servers I suggest you check out Ruester's Server Page in the links section or use Gamespy. December 19th, 1998PBQCC Goes DP!The Paintball Quake Congress has released the first set of Digital Paint Rankings and Digital Paint Ladder on the page. The rankings are formulated by the El Nino formula, and the ladder is just your basic clan ladder whereby clans "climb up" the ladder with wins. December 18th, 1998Third Party Maps Out the A**!Two more great 3rd Party maps are now available in the Files section. These maps include Level3 and Arctic, both of which were made by Flecko.
