May 1st, 1999Back in the Swing of ThingsYeah... I've been kinda "slacking off" with DP stuff lately.  I've been pretty busy with school and RealLife(tm), but this weekend I got some stuff done (see potd).  I'm gonna try to finish up all the models this weekend (PGP 'n stuff) and maybe work on some mapping.  The final release should be nice and purty :)
Clan CentralPearlSlam is in the final stages of getting Clan Central ready for public use.  He has posted a survey at dp.steubing.net that each clan's primary leader (the top dog from each clan) needs to fill out.  This information will then be used to notify each clan leader on how to create their clan and begin using Clan Central to manage their clan activities.  Clan Central's doors are expected to open by the beginning of next week if all goes well.  This also depends on that survey being filled out in a timely fashion!  :)

April 23rd, 1999Beta 5.5 Released!This evening I gathered all of the files together for the Client Side only release of Beta 5.5. These are files that we had intended to put in the final but figured we might as well release them since they are ready to go.

April 22nd, 1999DP 1.0 release date?Okay, I've been bugged about this enough. NO, there is no set release date.  All I can say is, that I AM working on it with my spare time, which has been cut down this week.Nutiket should be sending out an update pack for DP soon, containing new environment maps, new maps, and a few minor corrections.
Burst Fire on TCA?Okay, I've looked at the code, speculated as to the cause, and come up with a valid hypothesis. TCA is a Linux server. I thought that the problem was specific to the linux build, but now I realize that was wrong.  There is NOTHING I can do about burst fire, other than talk to the operator of TCA Paintball.  It seems to be server specific, so thats that.
April 16th, 1999DPFinal TestingAlthough not even halfway done with DP v1.0, I'd like to get some testing out of the way concerning some of the features requiring multiple clients.  Heres an excerpt from my todo list.

As well as these things, just a general sort of mish-mash test will be conducted.  This is to flush out any weird bugs that occur as a result of the modifications.  If you'd like to help, be on the gamenode irc network (ri.gamenode.net) at around 9:00 pm tomorrow.  (Show up in #paintball... i'll direct you where to go).  If you show up, I expect you to follow directions when they're given on the server.  If the server locks up, be able to tell me EXACTLY what you last did. (it may take a few seconds for you to notice the lockup, so be able to report in detail anything that might have caused the crash).  Thats basically the outline. I'll try to have a stable server lined up for this.  Thanks.
